Announcements
  • MPKP Hosts "Spin for Your Den"
During the first week of school, Principal Delk created a buzz around the building by announcing that something special was going to happen in a few days.  The day finally arrived on Monday, August 14, 2017.  Acting as game show hosts, Principal Delk and Assistant Principal Jackson unveiled the district-wide ROAR Project/PBIS with "Spin for Your Den".  In true game show style, using a large hand crafted wheel, each member of the MPKP Family was sorted into dens.  There was lots of excitement in the building.  Amid flashing lights and upbeat music, students and faculty erupted in applause at every spin of the wheel.  There are five colors on the wheel, each representing a den or team:

T     Den of Triumph (Victorious) Blue

I      Den of Integrity (Honest) Green

G     Den of Gallantry (Brave) Red

E     Den of Envision (Creative) Yellow

R     Den of Resilience (Resilient) Purple

The results were electric!  Members of the MPKP family proudly displayed their dens by wearing armbands of coordinating colors.  The dens will create camaraderie throughout the year as teams participate in healthy competitions designed to encourage teamwork and build relationships.  We are ALLiN!  Embrace the Process.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Written by:  Mr. Kyle Mickelson, Teacher

On February 16th, 2017 a group of students, led by Coach Mick, got the pleasure of attending the presentation of The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged.  The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, is a play written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield that parodies the plays of William Shakespeare with all of them being performed (in comically shortened or merged form) by only three actors.  For many of the students it was the first time visiting MGCCC Jefferson Davis Campus and viewing a theatrical performance.  Both the district and Coach Mick funded the event with hopes that trips to the play will be continued every semester.  This is the 4th year and 14th play that the students have had the opportunity to attend.  Persons in attendance were (from left to right):
