    Dr. Toy Watts 

    Moss Point School District Assistant Superintendent
    New to the central office staff at the Moss Point School District with nearly 20 years of educational experience is Dr. Toy Coles Watts assuming the responsibilities of Assistant Superintendent. She offers Moss Point a wide range of knowledge from experiences in her varied educational background.
    Dr. Watts is originally from the Bay St. Louis area where she graduated in 1992. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Dillard University in 1996 and began her career in education at Pass Christian Middle School. In her first assignment she taught science, reading and career discovery along with coaching track and cheerleaders.
    Since that first degree, Dr. Watts has also earned a Master’s in School Counseling, a Specialist in Educational Leadership and, most recently, a PhD in Educational Leadership in 2012, all from the University of Southern Mississippi.
    During her varied educational career, Dr. Watts served as an elementary school counselor in the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District at North Bay Elementary before relocating to Atlanta Public Schools where she taught 4th and 5th grades.  Returning to her home state, Watts spent two years in the Vicksburg Warren School District as an alternative school teacher. 
    The past seven years have been spent working in the Bay-Waveland School District. She spent one year as a high school counselor, three years as the principal at the Crossroads Learning Center for Alternative Education and, most recently, three years as Principal at North Bay Elementary.
    Dr. Watts is married to Rev. Cory Watts and they have two children, Josie and Tory.  She is the daughter of Russell Fairconnetue and Kim Coles.
