The Family Education Center (FEC) provides opportunities for students of all ages to engage in learning activities regardless of age.  The FEC is a bridge between the school district and the community.  October has been a very busy month! We begin with Open House, Cruisin' the Family Education Center, on October 3rd with an amazing show of parents and students.  Over 150 people attended.

Our P-16 Community Engagement Council had volunteers share with parents the importance of reading with their students.  In addition, they had handouts prepared to share with parents about A.R. Connect and IReady  home connections that allow parents to follow students progress at home.

The P-16 Community Engagement Council, Excel by 5, Family Education and Communications Department teamed up to set up a booth at the Blue Ribbon, Jackson County Fair.  The purpose was to draw attention to the great things Moss Point has to celebrate as a district. Dedicated members of the above mentioned teams went above and beyond to spend time at the booth having conversations with those who stopped by the booth.  The efforts put forth brought home a 2nd place ribbon in the school division.
